Low blade solidity hydrofoil, recommended for low viscosity blending and solid suspension applications:
  • Varying tip chord angle allows for further optimization of mixer selection

CLEAN EDGE IMPELLER
Designed for municipal waster water applications:

The Lightnin Clean Edge Impeller fills the need for use in services where a ragless impeller is either specified or required. Specifically designed for this demanding service, the Clean Edge remains free of fibrous debris while delivering blending performance equal to a hydrofoil impeller. Wastewater applications have stringy, solids called “rags” by industry personnel. This fibrous material causes equipment to foul, maintenance costs to increase due to added downtime through plant shutdowns, and mechanical damage. The fouling potential of these rags causes mixing impellers to lose their efficiency, vibrate and overload.

The Clean Edge impeller does not foul. It prevents rag accumulation and keeps the mixer operating smoothly at design power and without harmful vibration or tripping out due to overload.

  • Patented impeller achieves steady and stable operation in harsh operating conditions.

A333 CLEAN EDGE IMPELLAR
Specifically designed as a non-stringing axial flow impeller:
  • Patented unique blade design resists ragging, making it suitable for low viscosity applications where ragging material is present
  • Produces strong axial flow in low viscosity fluids with similar flow/power performance as an A510 hydrofoil
  • Clean Edge exhibits the same blending efficiency as a hydrofoil impeller and can often be a drop-in replacement for your existing mixers.
  • Installation of a Clean Edge impeller will increase plant uptime, reduce maintenance, and eliminate failures related to rag buildup.
A620
Recommended for non-Newtonian transitional fl ow blending, where Reynolds numbers are between 50 and 500:
  • Optimal two bladed design creates down flow in the center and up fl ow at the wall, creating a complete turnover of tank’s contents
  • Provides similar blend time for less power than traditional open impellers (A320, A200) and less torque (lower cost) than traditional close clearance impellers (A400, R400)
  • Operates at high impeller diameter/tank diameter ratios, which improves heat transfer at the wall
  • Bolted construction available for tanks with small diameter manways
KT-3 Impellar
Designed for chemical, industrial and sanitary applications:

The KT-3 impeller is a three bladed impeller specifically designed for use as a close clearance lower impeller in a dish or shallow cone bottomed tank with a bottom outlet. The KT-3 impeller minimizes solids settling and prevents cavitation of the pump suction by swirling the tank contents and sweeping solids towards the outlet. The “wave” pattern shortens drainage times. The KT-3 does not “suspend” solids, however, this wave action constantly sweeps the bottom of the dish allowing for solids to move downward towards the outlet.
